The old Sirdar Pub is new again! A complete renovation has been finished and our doors are open. Inside the rustic looking pub hangs a larger than life 3-D steam engine bursting from the wall above the river rock (from the Slocan Valley) bar. This light, malty, organic ale is the beer that’s causing such a buzz in British Columbia. We brewed this very special ale to celebrate the Whitewater Ski Resort’s 25th Anniversary and The Nelson Brewing Company’s 10th Anniversary. By combining organic honey with specially chosen organic malted barley and organic hops we have created a golden ale that reflects the mountain experience.
2013 and 2016 B.C. Brewing Awards First Place Winner and 2005 Canadian Brewing Awards Silver Medal Winner.
The barbeque is blazing on the deck, the sun is slowly setting on the river. Sounds like the perfect time for a clean, crisp ale. Harvest Moon is a Kolsch style ale that is cold conditioned on something the locals call Kootenay time. Brewed with the finest organic Pilsner and Munich malt, organic wheat and just a twist of B.C. culture..organic toasted hemp seeds.Bronze Metal Winner at the 2010 and 2012 Canadian Brewing Awards and Silver Medal Winner at the 2011 and 2014 Canadian Brewing Awards.
ABV 4.8% A striking visual for a classic style that beautifully balances malt, bitter and strength. Offers you a relatively dark beer that is medium bodied, not the least bit heavy for a great range of food pairing. We like to call it "Li'l Red Hen"
Bitters aren't necessarily bitter. This Best Bitter balances full, slight fruit and caramel with moderate happiness. The Angry Hen calls it "Ol' Bitch Bitter" A name sure to grab your attention and get the folks tasting.
We source our food and spirits from local businesses in the Valley
